FIRST GENERATION
1. John Sealy (A). Born in 1821 in Ireland (1901 Census). Probably never married. He died 13 Jan 1910 at 172 King St East (14 Jan 1910 DT). John came to NB in 1850 (1901 Census). He was a cabinetmaker who, after his retirement, travelled the world but came back to Saint John for his final years (14 Jan 1910 DT).
2. Thomas Sealy (B). Born 10 Nov 1825 at Bandon, Cork Co, Ireland. Married 5 Feb 1850 to Mary Anne Dean of Lancaster (Ref B). He died 4 Apr 1895 (5 Apr 1895 DT). Mary Anne was born 7 Jul 1826 in NB and died 15 Jun 1910 at her residence, 172 King St East (16 Jun 1910 DT). Thomas was a carpenter who came to NB from Ireland in 1846 (1851 Census). They lived at 172 King St East from at least 1881 (Ref C). The family was Methodist (1881 Census). Identified children:

SECOND GENERATION
1. John Sealy (BA). Born 28 Apr 1853 (1901 Census) at Saint John. Married 21 Oct 1886 to Alicia Riddle Green of Lorneville (Ref B). He died 1 Mar 1928 at Saint John (28 Mar 1928 TJ). Alicia was born 22 Jan 1861 (1901 Census) and died 10 Jan 1928 at Saint John (11 Jan 1928 TJ). They had no children. John is listed in the 1891 Census of Queens Ward, City of Saint John, as a dealer in groceries, age 37, with his wife, Alicia, age 30. From about 1890, he was a wholesale grocer and fish merchant with business premises at 25-26 South Wharf and at 266-268 Strait Shore (Ref C). He retired in 1924, having been a member of the Council of the Saint John Board of Trade for many years (28 Mar 1928 TJ). He lived at 100 Leinster St from 1893-1903 (Ref C). He lived at 104 Leinster St in 1928 (11 Jan 1928 TJ).
2. George Sealy (BB). Born 2 Nov 1856 (1901 Census) at Saint John. Married 10 Dec 1907 to Martha Caroline Thompson of Fairville (11 Dec 1907 DT). He died 20 Mar 1922 at Saint John (21 Mar 1922 DT). Martha was born 19 May 1869 at Rexton, NB, and died 25 Mar 1950 at Saint John (27 Mar 1950 TJ). George was a carpenter and completed a term as President of Local 119, United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners, in Jun 1914 (19 Jun 1914 DT). His widow lived at 59 Crown St in 1931 and at 172 King St East in 1932 and 1933. She lived at 57 Crown St from 1935 until her death. Identified children:

b. Annie Margaret Sealy (BBB). Born in Feb 1911 (10 Apr 1911 DT).

3. Mary Gladys Sealy (BC). Born 13 Feb 1859 (1901 Census) at Saint John. Married 5 Aug 1890 to Hugh McCavour. She died 24 Aug 1937 at 170 King St East (25 Aug 1937 TJ). Hugh was born 14 Nov 1856 (1901 Census) at Pisarinco (Lorneville), NB, and died 4 May 1934 at Saint John, age 79 (5 May 1934 TJ). They had no children. Mary was a teacher living at 172 King St East and teaching at Victoria School in 1890/91 (Ref C).
4. Margaret Sealy (BD). Born 28 Jun 1860 (1901 Census) at Saint John. Never married. She died 5 Mar 1936 at 170 King St East (6 Mar 1936 TJ). She is listed in the 1891 Census of Queens Ward, City of Saint John, age 30, living with her parents at 172 King St East. She was single, living at the same address, in 1931 (Ref C). From 1932 to 1935, she boarded at 170 King St East (Ref C).
5. James R. Sealy (BE). Born 23 Sep 1862 at Saint John. Married 1 Dec 1886 to Susan Orchard (Ref B). He died 15 Aug 1932 at Kentville, NS (16 Aug 1932 TJ). His wife was born 15 Mar 1862 at Saint John and died 6 Apr 1944 at Kentville. He is listed in the 1891 Census of Victoria Ward, City of Saint John, as a travelling salesman in hardware, age 28, with his wife, Susan, age 28. He lived in Kentville, NS, in 1922 (21 Mar 1922 DT) Identified children:

Samuel was born 14 Mar 1871 at Pisarinco (Lorneville), NB, and died 20 Jul 1936 at Ottawa (22 Jul 1936 TJ). He was Comptroller of Currency for the Bank of Canada in Ottawa. They lived in Saint John in 1922 (21 Mar 1922 DT) and in Ottawa in 1928 (28 Mar 1928 TJ). Identified children:

He was born 9 Feb 1911 at Chipman, NB, and died 26 Jan 1978 at Saint John. Mary lived at 172 King St East in 1932 and 1933 and at 57 Crown St in 1935. She was a stenographer at Smith Brokerage during this period (Ref C). Identified children:
