Anthes, Nellie M.
Nellie Mae Anthes, 87, of Cass City, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2004, at Caro Community Hospital. She was born June 10, 1916 in Elmwood Township to Fred and Christie (Hutchinson) Seeley. She married Edward Anthes on December 18, 1934 in Caro. He preceded her in death on November 21, 1981.
Nellie retired from General Cable after more than 20 years. She was a member of Novesta Church of Christ. She loved sewing, quilting and her cat, Crackers.
Nellie is survived by her children, Tim Anthes, of Caseville, Mary Ann Lowe and her husband, Keith, of Cass City; grandchildren: Jay Anthes and his wife, Kathi, of Sterling Heights, Sarah Honsinger and her husband, Mike, of Saginaw, Rich Lowe and his wife, Daria, of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mike Lowe and his wife, Diane, of Cass City, Diane Spooner and her husband, Rick, of Mason; 10 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Aileen Price; a brother-in-law, John Anderson; sisters-in-law, Donna Seeley, Isabelle Seeley, Clara Seeley; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, William J. Lowe; siblings: Oscar Seeley and his wife, Lydia, Alfred Seeley, Hollis Seeley and his wife, Hazel, Clark Seeley, Earney Seeley, Clarabell Anderson and Ralph Price.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 5, 2004, at Novesta Church of Christ in Cass City with Chuck Emmert officiating. Interment will be in Novesta Township Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Kranz Funeral Home in Cass City. Memorials may be made to the Novesta Church of Christ.
