Donna M. Baker

Donna M. Baker, 76, of Dixon, died Monday, April 25, 2011, at CGH Medical Center, Sterling. She was a registered nurse at Sterling-Rock Falls Clinic for 35 years, Admiral in Dixon for five years, and Woods, Inc. in Oregon for 16 years, prior to her retirement. Donna was born December 21, 1934 in Morrison, IL, the daughter of Cecil R. and Edna M. (Kraft) Seeley. She married Vern Baker on November 30, 1957 in Sterling, IL. He preceded her in death on April 10, 1992. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Dixon, Occupational Health Nurses Association, was a past president of the Northern Illinois Nurses Association, past treasurer for Dixon Lioness Club, and CPR instructor for American Red Cross. Survivors include four sons, Kenneth Baker of London, UK, Keith (Cheryl) Baker, Kurt Baker, both of Dixon, Kris (Gail) Baker of Byron; one daughter, Kristi (David) Mueller of Saugatuck, MI; three brothers, Cecil R. Buzz Seeley of Sterling, Donald K. (Tawanna) Seeley of Waterman, Jerry (Bonnie) Sterns of Yuma, AZ; two sisters, Jacqueline (Lester) Blackburn of Rock Falls, Sandra (James) Arduini of Sterling; six grandchildren, Jessica Baker of Washington, D.C, Nile Baker of Dixon, Kyle and Gina Baker of Byron, Henry and Eleanor Mueller of Saugatuck, MI. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Francis Seeley. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m, Friday, April 29, 2011, at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home, Dixon, with Rev. Tony Hawkins, pastor of First United Methodist Church, Dixon, officiating. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon. Visitation will be from 2-8:00 p.m, Thursday, at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home, Dixon, with family present from 2-4:00 and 6-8:00 p.m. Memorials have been established to First United Methodist Church, Dixon, and the Northern Illinois Lung Association.
