Marjie R. Belzer

Graveside services for Marjie R. Belzer, 77, of Miller, S.D., and formerly of Nampa, who died May 24 at her son's home in Miller, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Charles E. Higgins, pastor of the Nampa First Church of the Nazarene officiating, assisted by the Rev. J. Harley Adams, pastor of the Melba Friends Church. Friends may meet at the cemetery. Services under the direction of the Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa.

She was born May 23, 1906, in Jackson County, Minn., to Walter and Lucy Seelye. She was married to Arthur E. Belzer on May 26, 1925, at the family home in Elliott, N.D. They farmed in North Dakota for 24 years. After farming they went into the ministry of pastoring Nazarene churches throughout North Dakota until retiring in 1971. In 1971, they moved to Nampa and he preceded her in death in March of 1972. She continued to make her home in Nampa until four years ago when she went to live with her son, Gordon, in Washougal, Wash. For the past four years she had lived with her son, David in Miller. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Bob (Karen) Mangum, of Nampa; seven sons, Norman R., Orlando, Fla., Wesley D., Dallas, Texas, the Rev. Gordon G. Washougal, Verne A., Minot, N.D., the Rev. David A., Miller, S.D., the Rev. Charles E, Fargo N.D., and Robert W. of Melba; three half-brothers, one stepbrother, three half-sisters; 34 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one sister, one grandson and one stepbrother.
