Mildred I. Bedward

Mildred I. Bedward, 89, Prairie du Chien, died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003, at the Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

She was born Jan. 24, 1914, in Bloom City, daughter of Lester and Martha (Fry) Seely.

She married Richard Bedward on Dec. 5, 1932, in Lancaster. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Prairie du Chien.

She is survived by her husband, Dick Bedward of Prairie du Chien; three sons, Roger (Rocile) of Cary, IL, Lloyd (Joanne) of Prairie du Chien, and Lyle (Margaret) of Oregon; three daughters, Janice (Ed) Mell of Sun Prairie, Bernice (Ivan) Norton of Monona, and Karen (Jim) Jelinek of Madison; a sister, Bernice (Bob) Peterson of Naples, FL; a sister-in-law, Margaret Seely of Homossassa, FL; 33 grandchildren; and 37 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Milford Seely; a sister, Thelma Hern; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday at the United Methodist Church in Prairie du Chien, Rev. Stuart Allen officiating, with burial in the Brodtville Cemetery in Patch Grove Township.

PRAIRIE DU CHIEN, Wis. - Mildred I. Bedward, 89, of Prairie du Chien, died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003, at the Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital, after a brief illness.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at United Methodist Church, Prairie du Chien. Burial will be in Brodtville Cemetery, Patch Grove Township.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Garrity Funeral Home, Prairie du Chien.
