Anita S. Brunner

Anita Seely Brunner, wife of the late Albert Louis Brunner, who was the former Darien Town Clerk, died Monday at her home on Brookside Road, Darien. She was 68.

Born Oct. 24, 1914, in Noroton, she was the daughter of the late Charles H. and Agnes Coleman Seely.

Mrs. Brunner was a 1932 graduate of the Darien High School. She was a member of the Darien Historical Society, the Country Club of Darien, Connecticut Valley Embroidery Guild, Darien Community Association, Historical Society of Early American Decorations and the Lockwood-Mathews Museum.

Survivors include a son, Alan Gargan Brunner of Glastonbury; three daughters, Mrs. Anita Jeffrey of Grand Prairie, Texas, Mrs. Richard Gannon of Norwalk, and Mrs. Susan Gaccione of Westerly, R.I.; two brothers, Holly Seely of Wilton and Coleman Seely of Hyannisport, Mass.; a sister, Mrs. Virginia Bundegaard of Rowayton, and 13 grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 A.m. Friday at St. John’s Roman Catholic Church, 1986 Post Road, Noroton. Burial will take place in Grove Cemetery, Darien.

The family will receive friends at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien, from 7 to 9 today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer contributions be made to the Darien Historical Society, Old Kings Highway North, Darien, 06820.
