Mrs. Ralph Chambers Died at 35

Mrs. Ralph (Verna) Chambers, 35, Heuvelton RFD, died Friday (Dec. 28, 1956) at the Potsdam Hospital where she had been a patient since Dec. 20.

She was born Sept. 7, 1921, in Heuvelton, daughter of the late Leland and Maytie Townsend Seeley. She attended Heuvelton schools and was married to Ralph Chambers of Heuvelton on April 16, 1937, in a ceremony performed in the home of the home of the bride’s parents by the Rev. Reginald Hewitt, pastor of the Wesleyan Methodist Church in Heuvelton.

The couple resided in Syracuse until 1940 when they returned to Heuvelton where Mr. Chambers operated a farm on the West Lake Road.

Surviving are her husband, two sons, Ralph Jr. and Rodney; four daughters, Phyllis and Margaret, both of Syracuse and Alice and Joan of Heuvelton; three sisters, Mrs. Edward (Thelma) Backus, Mrs. Clarence (Alice) Backus of Syracuse, Mrs. Harley (Leah) Besio of Clay; two brothers John and Lawrence Seeley of Heuvelton and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Dec. 31 at 1 p.m. at the Fox Funeral Home in Heuvelton with the Rev. H. Kelsey Bicknell, pastor of the Heuvelton Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be made at Fairview Cemetery, Canton.
