Traverse City – Mina J. VanderVort Clark, 98, a homemaker from Traverse City, died Sunday at Birchwood Nursing Center.

A Traverse City resident for the past 40 years, she formerly had lived in Kingsley. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Traverse City.

Born in Mayfield on March 18, 1893, she was the daughter of Grant and Alice (Marsh) Seeley. On May 13, 1914, she married Earl VanderVort, who died in 1932. In 1937, she married Jack Clark, who died in 1942.

She also was preceded in death by five sisters, two brothers, and a granddaughter.

Surviving are two sons, Harold VanderVort of Portland, Ore., and Stanley VanderVort of Buckley; two daughters, B. Elaine Gregoire of Homer, Alaska, and Helen Waidley of Bellwood, Ill.; 21 grandchildren and many great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Covell-Smith Funeral Home in Kingsley. Pastor Bruce Sheets will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Kingsley.

Friends may visit from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
