Nancy M. Smith Clark

Nancy M. Smith Clark, 85, Franklin, formerly of Frankfort, died 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, 2007, at Johnson Memorial Hospital, Franklin. She was born June 1, 1922, in Windfall, the daughter of Fred and Jennie (Hendrick) Seely. She married Marcelin “Curly” Smith on May 25, 1941, and he preceded her in death Sept. 25, 1998. She then married Lloyd L. Clark on Feb. 14, 2003, and he survives.

She attended school in Tipton County. She retired from Federal Mogul in 1984, after 20 years. She also worked at J.C. Penney and Kite’s Grocery. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene and also attended Fairfax Christian Church. She was a member of the ham radio operators club of Franklin. She enjoyed her family and friends.

Survivors in addition to her husband include sons, Gerry Smith, Kokomo, and Ron and Sandy Smith, Frankfort; a daughter-in-law, Diane K. Smith, Frankfort; a stepdaughter, Christine and Gary Vasko, Indianapolis; stepsons, Larry Clark, Indianapolis, and Chuck and Starlett Williamson, Indianapolis; six grandchildren; 17 stepgrandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and 31 stepgreat-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, E. Jay Smith, in April 2000; two brothers and two sisters.

Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at goodwinfuneralhome.com.
