Marilyn was a strong advocate of, and instrumental in, the founding of the Chemung County Cerebral Palsy Foundation, in conjunction with her mother, the late Mildred Seeley of Millerton, PA.

Marilyn selflessly devoted a large portion of her life to the home care of her son, the late Larry W. Hough, and while a resident of North Syracuse, NY, was a volunteer for the Suicide Crisis Center as a hotline operator assisting teenagers in crisis.
