Dorothy E. Daley

SALISBURY – Dorothy E. Daley, 84 of State Route 29, Town of Salisbury passed away Monday, October 5, 2009 at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center, Utica where she had been a patient since September 26.

She was born on May 6, 1925 in the Town of Salisbury the daughter of the late Ward and Cora Belle (Bloodough) Seeley. She was educated in Salisbury Rural Schools.

She was united in marriage to her husband of 59 years William E. Daley on February 28, 1942 at the United Methodist Church Parsonage, Dolgeville. Mr. Daley predeceased her on September 13, 2001.

Mrs. Daley was a member of the Salisbury United Methodist Church.

A devoted wife, mother and grandmother she found great joy in spending time with her family.

Following her husbands retirement the couple spent 19 years delivering the Little Falls Evening Times to their friends and neighbors and for many years the couple worked together operating the family dairy farm on the Daley Road in the Town of Salisbury.

She is survived by 3 sons William A. Daley and Andrea, Troy, NY, Alan J. Daley and Jeanne, Salisbury and Neil E. Daley and Louise Kucel, Gloversville, 5 daughters Linda D. Kay, Ilion, Judy Yatarola and Art, Martinsville, VA, Sundi M. Jones and Buster, Inghams Mills, Melonie Lawrence and Michael, Oppenheim and Dorothy A. Simpson and Christopher, Brunswick, ME, 23 grandchildren William, Dennis, Mark, Michelle, Brian and Timothy Daley, Donna Marhaver, Barbara Daley, Todd Nichols, Trina Graudons, Erin Krumhansl, Shane Daley, Jennifer Fox, Jimmy Foster, Courtney Jones, David, Matthew and Shawn Jenison, Amie Buddenhagen, Ryan and Joel Simpson, also a grand daughter Sundi Rose Jones who spent countless hours caring for her grandmother, 33 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 7 brothers William, Clarence, Marshall, Harold, Edgar, Barney and Martin Seeley and 4 sisters Cora Seeley, Florence Seeley, Mildred Lamphere and Stella Griffin and by a grandson Gregory A. Foster, Jr. on April 28, 1994.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2009 at 10:00 am from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls. Interment will take place in Curtiss Cemetery, Town of Salisbury.

Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Friday, October 9, 2009 from 5-8 pm and to attend the funeral services Saturday morning.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the doctors and nurses of St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center for the care and comfort shown to Mrs. Daley and her family and especially her granddaughter Barbara Daley who cared for her during her hospital stay.
