MARION E. DIAMOND

SARATOGA SPRINGS -- Marion E. Diamond, (nee Seeley), of Saratoga Springs, died Thursday at Saratoga Hospital after a brief illness. Born September 7, 1917 in Boston, MA, daughter of William Seeley and Mary Hall (Seeley). The Boston native who grew up at Pittsfield, MA and later moved to York, PA and Silver Spring, MD. Marion attended public schools at Pittsfield, graduating from Hume High School and continued two years of post graduate study, before working for General Electric Co. during World War II at Pittsfield. She was an avid fan of thoroughbred racing and worked as a volunteer at the New York Racing Museum in the early 1990's. Marion was married to James T. Diamond of Pittsfield, MA, 41 years before his death in 1982. They owned and operated Quality House Dry Cleaners in Washington, D.C. for 25 years. She is survived two sons, Dan Diamond of Las Vegas, NV, Michael and Tiffany Diamond of Seattle, WA; a daughter and son-in-law, Zoe Ann and Richard Shafer, Saratoga Springs; two grandsons, Christopher and Ann Shafer, Baltimore, MD and Ryan and Michelle Shafer, Mt. Vernon, NY; a great grandson Alexander Shafer. Calling hours, Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at the funeral home. Sunday services will be at 4 p.m. at Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Home, 130 Circular Avenue, Saratoga Springs, with burial at Parklawn Memorial Gardens, Rockville, MD, 11 a.m. Tuesday.
