Mary Seely Dixon

GRANBURY - Mary Seely Dixon, 71, a homemaker, died Thursday, Aug. 16, 2001, at a Granbury hospital.

Funeral: 11 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church of Granbury, with the Rev. Neil Norman, Dr. Eugene Robertson and the Rev. Christie Brunner, officiating. Burial: Holly Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday.

Memorials: First United Methodist Church, The American Cancer Society, and The Cancer Care Center.

Mary was born July 6, 1930 in Lancaster, to Henry and Carrie Mae Seely. She married Jimmie Dixon on Feb. 23, 1946, in Decatur, Texas. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Granbury, the Granbury Gardeners Club, Shanley Dancers, and Granbury Good Sam's Club.

Mrs. Dixon was preceded in death by her daughter Charlotte Dixon Sowell and three sisters.

Survivors: Husband, Jimmie Dixon of Granbury; daughters and sons- in-law, Sharon Dixon Valach and Ron of Colleyville, Cindy Dixon Tippett and Robert of Granbury, Deborah Davis and Dr. Don of Granbury; brothers, Terry C. Seely of Granbury, Edward Seely of California, H.C. Seely of Longview, and Alvis Seely of Springtown; sister, Louella Paddock of Burnet; son-in-law, Gary Sowell of Benbrook; grandchildren, Clay, Christy, Kristen, Sean, and Justin; nine great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
