FLORENCE (SEELEY) EHLERS
Florence Ehlers, 87, of Naples, FL, died July 23, 1999 at Naples Community Hospital. Born in 1911 in New York City, the only daughter of John William Seeley and Anna Marie Donelly, Mrs. Ehlers lived in Garnerville, NY prior to moving to Naples, FL in 1973 with her husband, John David Ehlers, who predeceased her in 1988. Mrs. Ehlers held a 1959 Bachelor of Science Degree from Columbia University in New York City. She also was a 1964 Master of Arts graduate from Columbia University, and retired New York State Community College nursing instructor. She was a licensed Registered Nurse in New York and Florida. Mrs. Ehlers was also one of the founding parishioners and a communicant of Saint Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, East Naples, FL. Mrs. Ehlers is survived by five sons and a daughter, William of Naples, FL; David (Diane) of Stamford, CT; Richard (Patricia) of Florida, NY and Naples, FL; Patrick of Naples, FL; George (Pamela) of Stony Point, NY and Sarah (nee Ehlers) (Andrew) Leach of Santa Theresa, NM. Mrs. Ehlers is also survived by 33 grandchildren and 47 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter, Regina (nee Ehlers) Kramer of Warwick, NY. Visitation and a Mass of Christian Burial were held for Mrs. Ehlers earlier this week in Naples, FL. Friends may call at the T.J. McGowan Sons Funeral Home, Inc in Garnerville, Thursday from 7-9 pm. A graveside service will be held Friday, 11 am at Saint Peter's Cemetery, Haverstraw.
