ENGLE, DOROTHY ‘IRENE’
PALMYRA/MACEDON — Died on Monday, May 2, 2011 at the age of 87.
Family and friends called from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 7 at the Robert L. Yost Funeral Home, Inc. at 123 W. Main St. in Palmyra. A funeral service followed calling at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Macedon Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society, 1400 N. Winton Road, Rochester, NY 14609.
Irene was born on Nov. 14, 1923 in Berwick, Pa. to Howard and Jessie Cope Seely. She was married to Furman E. Engle Jr. on Oct. 28, 1950 in Berwick.
Mrs. Engle is survived by her daughters, Gale Santiago and Pamela (Julio) Santiago; sons, Martin, Lenard (Nancy) and Vernon (Sharon) Engle; sisters, Elizabeth Davis, Jessie Hosler, Cora Hummel, Jeanette Heller, Gladys Peters and Virginia Barnes; son-in-law, Edward Hilliard;16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Furman; daughter, Bonnie Hilliard; son, Brian Engle; and brothers, George, Clark, Frank, Ernest and Maurice Seely.
