Laura E. Evarts

Laura E. Evarts, South Canaan, died Wednesday, Feb 5, 2003 at Community Medical Center, Scranton, after an illness.

Born in South Canaan, daughter of the late J. Wesley and Mary Hoadley Seeley, she was of the Protestant faith. Before retirement she was employed as a machine operator for the Waymart Knit Wear Co.

Surviving are three sons, David, Lake Ariel; John, Hollisterville; and Mike, Honesdale; three daughters, Maryann Amorine, South Canaan; Laura Evarts, with whom she resided; and Kathy Faller, South Canaan; a brother: Robert Seeley, Equinunk; three sisters: Emma Bronson, Carbondale; Shirley Orinick, Heddinite, NC; and Mildred Seeley, Scranton; 15 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by five brothers: Harold, Leroy, Raymond, Lawrence, and Gerald Seeley; and three sisters: Beatrice Robinson, Margaret Field, and Ann Marie Seeley.

The funeral will be Saturday, Feb 8 at 10 a.m. in the James Wilson Funeral Home, Route 296, Gravity Road, Lake Ariel with services by the Rev. Matt Wolfe, pastor, Canaan Bible Chapel. Interment, East Canaan Cemetery.

Friends may call Friday Feb 7, from 5 to 9 pm.
