HARRIETT ESTELLE SEELY FILLINGIM
1913 - 2009
Estelle Seely Fillingim, 96, of Pensacola, FL passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2009.
Estelle lived a full and happy life and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She graduated Pensacola High School in 1932. After serving many years at the Naval Air Station Public Works Department, she retired in May of 1971. She was a certified ceramics instructor and after retirement, began instructing voluntarily at the Bayview Senior Citizens Facility. Later in life, she began a new passion for square dancing and served as secretary of her square dance club. Her other hobbies included fishing, volunteer work, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Paul Catholic Church.
Estelle is preceded in death by her parents, Clara W. Crona Seely and Benjamin W. Seely, and her loving daughter, Lynette Fillingim Lalas.
Surviving family members include her sons, Frank E. Fillingim (Susan) and Kenneth L. Fillingim; her grandchildren, Mitchell Lalas, Rodney Lalas, Jarrett Lalas (Caren), Valicia Fillingim Ray (Bill), and Judson F. Fillingim (Jamie); and her great-grandchildren, Nicole Lalas, Hunter Vickrey, Rebecca Ray, Alex Ray, Tatum Fillingim, and Celeste Fillingim.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude for the excellent care provided by Homestead Village Retirement Community and Covenant Hospice.
Visitation will be held 10 to 10:30am Friday, November 13, 2009 at St. Paul Catholic Church with a Funeral Mass to begin at 10:30am with Rev. Fr. Joe Fowler as celebrant. Burial will follow at Bayview Memorial Park on Scenic Highway.
