DEATH COMES TO MAYME SEELY FISHER
Funeral 2 p.m. Monday at Congregation Church of Highland
Five days after she had brought into the world a little daughter, Mrs. Mayme Seely Fisher, wife of Fred B. Fisher, died at 8:05 o’clock yesterday morning and in the homes of a host of friends in this city and Highland there is sorrow at the passing of the young woman. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. Randolph Seely of Highland, widely known Pioneers.
The funeral will be held at the Congregational church in Highland, the place of her birth, Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Rev. F.E. Dell pastor of the church, and Rev. S.G. Lamb, a former pastor, will conduct the service and the interment will be in Mountain View cemetery. The Mark B. Shaw company has charge.
On Thursday night deep anxiety displaced the earlier confidence that all was well, but Friday noon brought stronger hope, and then during the late night hope began to fade. Shortly after daybreak Mrs. Fisher lapsed into unconsciousness and two later as grief stricken loved ones knelt at her side, the angel of death came.
There was a consultation on Monday morning, and it was the welfare of the baby, the anticipated coming of which had brought great joy into the home, that occupied all the thoughts and words of Mrs. Fisher. With her there was no hesitation for thoughts for herself in a vital decision that had to be made.
Little Miss Mary Kathryn, a beautiful and perfect child, came into the world, and the gladness spread among a large circle of friends who are now plunged into deepest sorrow by the sad news that came from the hospital yesterday.
At first Mrs. Fisher was apparently strong, but gradually doubts began to mingle with the hopes of her dear ones, and then came the word from the room in which surgeons and nurses and loved ones were fighting the battle, that hope had gone.
The angel of death called one whose radiant disposition of happiness and cheer had made friends among many. A beloved woman was taken at the happiest time of her life. Her last conscious moments heard loving inquiry of a mother for her baby.
Mr. and Mrs. Fisher lived in their beautiful bungalow at 632 Arrowhead avenue.
