GILSON
Mrs. Luella H. “Midge” Gilson, 74, of Grand Valley, RD 1, died at 6:40 p.m. Monday, Feb. 13, 1989, in Titusville Area Hospital. She was a patient there since Jan. 31.
Mrs. Gilson was born in Hydetown, July 8, 1914, a daughter of the late E.B. and Pearl Morehead Seely. She was married to David Wayne Gilson Oct. 2, 1940, at Eldred Center, and was affiliated with her husband for a number of years in the operations of their dairy farm at Grand Valley, RD 1. She was also employed as a nurses’ aid at the Fieldmore Nursing Home and the Sharp Convalescent Home at Pleasantville. She was last employed at the Grandview Health Care (Sunset Manor) from 1972 until her retirement in 1979.
She is survived by her husband; five sisters, Mrs. Ula Johnson of Jamestown, N.Y., Mrs. Louise Stufflebean and Mrs. Bertena Anderson, both of Grand Valley, RD 1, Mrs. Ila Moronski of Pittsfield, RD 2, and Mrs. Sam (Bessie) Logue of Titusville; a foster brother, Kenneth Brewster of Springfield, Va.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, two brothers, Arthur Seely and Ernest Seely, died previously.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home today from 7 to 9 p.m. and attend the funeral service there at 1:30 p.m. Friday with Rev. Rocco Tito, pastor of St. Walburga Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Gilson Cemetery in Eldred Township, Warren County.
The family has said memorial contributions may be made to the Grand Valley Volunteer Fire Department.
