Norma Seely Creviston Gneiting

We say goodbye for now to our beloved mother, Norma Seely Creviston Gneiting, who passed away Monday, July 1, 2013, at her daughter's home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Jan. 30, 1932, in St. Anthony to Ferry and Oneta Seely. She grew up on a farm in Twin Groves, Idaho, where she attended the country school, South Fremont High, and graduated from BYU, where she received her B.S. degree in elementary education.

She married Herbert Creviston in the Idaho Falls Temple on June 26, 1959. To this union was born Lynne, Todd and Randy.

Norma loved teaching and was an outstanding teacher who affected the lives of hundreds of children with her love, compassion and understanding of each child's needs. For most of her career, she taught in Rigby-area schools.

She loved the gospel of Jesus Christ with all her heart. She served in many callings throughout her life. She especially loved working with the youth, sharing her talents with her creativity in art, music and drama. One of her favorite callings was serving as an adviser in the Relief Society at BYU-Idaho.

Typical of her life of devotion to her church, she served a mission to San Antonio with her sister and best friend, Donna Bright Linford. She also served as a dedicated temple worker for five years.

Her greatest joy in life was her children, whom she served and loved unconditionally. Her ultimate contribution was in providing for them a model of Christlike behavior.

Norma will be greatly missed, but her gifts of love and compassion will be carried on for generations.

Norma is survived by her children, Lynne (David) Martin, Todd (Irena) Creviston and Randy (Sylvia, deceased) Creviston; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and siblings, Dean (Leila) Seely, Donna (Barry Bright and Golden Linford, deceased) Linford, Sylvan (Gail) Seely and Clyde (Linda) Seely.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 5, at the Kimball Mill Ward, 650 S. 200 East in Bountiful, Utah. Preceding the service, the family will visit with friends from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Interment will be at 5:30 p.m. in the Parker, Idaho, cemetery.

Parting is such sweet sorrow. We love you and will miss you dearly until we meet again.
