Mrs. S.M. Goss, Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E.T. Seeley of This City, Was Well Known Here

Relatives in this city have received detailed accounts of the death of Mrs. S.M. Goss of Melbourne, Wash., who passed away November 27. Mrs. Goss was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E.T. Seeley of this city, and was a sister of the late Mrs. William F. Stillman, Jackson street. Mrs. Goss was the second of three daughters in the Seeley family, and was born in New York in March 1847. The family came to Oshkosh at an early day.

Mrs. Goss was married in 1868. With her husband, Judge Abel Goss; she went to Colorado, and settled at Boulder. For fifteen years, Mr. and Mrs. Goss lived the pioneer life, first in the mountains, and then in a valley. Two children were born to them. They were: Walter S.E. Goss, of Melbourne, Wash., and a daughter who died in her childhood.

In 1883 Mr. and Mrs. Goss moved to Washington, and after residing at various points in the territory, settled at Melbourne in 1885, becoming postmistress upon the establishment of a postoffice there. She continued in that office until her death. She was active in church and temperance work.
