WHITE HALL – Mrs. Edith Seely Griswold died at 3:30 p.m. Saturday of a heart attack at her apartment while conversing with a friend.

Mrs. Griswold was born Feb. 19, 1882, in the White Hall vicinity. She was the daughter of Americus and Mary Shackleford Seely. Her stepmother, Mrs. Carrie Seely, died five years ago.

She was united in marriage to Frank C. Griswold April 29, 1903. He died April 25, 1943. One son, Loyal Seely Griswold died Jan. 25, 1944.

Surviving are two granddaughters, Mrs. Herman Howard of Memphis, Tenn., and Nancy Ann Griswold of St. Louis, Mo.; one brother, William Seely of Hillview, and a half-brother, Clifford Seely of Peoria.

She was a member of First Baptist Church and Past Worthy Matron of Guiding Star Chapter, OES.

The body is at Dawdy Funeral Home, and funeral rites will be held there Tuesday at 2:30 p.m.
