December 1, 1936 - February 17, 2011 Janis Ann Seely Guarisco, 74, a native of New Orleans, passed away at her residence here in Morgan City on Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011.
Janis is survived by her husband of over 50 years, Mario J. Guarisco; two daughters, Lisa Minchew and her companion, Bo Sanner, and Marianna Claire Guarisco; and three grandchildren, Dara Elise Minchew, Dustin Reese Minchew, and Matthew Joseph Guarisco.
Janis was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin Henry and Anna Claire Gautreaux Seely.
Pallbearers were her nephews, John Guarisco, Joseph Guarisco, Peter J. Guarisco, Thomas Guarisco, Christopher Guarisco and Salvadore Guarisco. Honorary pallbearers were her nephew, Jeffery Guarisco, and her cousin, Barney Seely.
Visitation was held on Sunday Feb. 20, 2011, at Twin City Funeral Home from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. The visitation resumed today, Monday, February 21, 2011, at Twin City Funeral Home from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with Father Greg Pratt officiating. Janis was laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
