Former Adams County resident Verle E. (Seely) Hedgecock, 80, of Grand Island died Monday, March 25, 1996, at Community Care of Grand Island.
Memorial services are 1 p.m. Friday at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home in Grand Island with the Rev. Jim Keyser officiating. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery at Rosedale. There will be no visitation.
Mrs. Hedgecock was born Oct. 23, 1915, to Amos and Zelda (Larsen) Seely in Doniphan. She attended elementary school at District 49 and graduated from Prosser High School.
On Dec. 11, 1940, she married Henry J. Hedgecock in Hastings. They lived in several communities, including Hastings, before moving to Grand Island in 1981.
She was a member of the Methodist faith, National Association of Federal Employees, American Association of Retired Persons and a life member of the Nebraska PTA.
Survivors are her husband; two daughters, Patricia Drury of Fullerton and Sheralee Patterson of Leeper, Pa.; one son, Danny of Prosser; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
Memorials may be given to the Masonic Children's Home in Fremont.
