HYDE PARK – Helen E. Hetsler, 85, owner of the former Hetsler’s Trailer Park here until her retirement 20 years ago, died Thursday at St. Francis Hospital, Town of Poughkeepsie, after a long illness.
Mrs. Hetsler lived here for almost 60 years, coming from Massachusetts.
She was a member of the Hyde Park Historical Society.
Born in Pittsfield, Mass., March 14, 1902, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Seeley.
In 1921 she married Leonard Hetsler, who died in June 1975.
Mrs. Hetsler is survived by a son, Leonard “Sonny” Hetsler of Hyde Park; a daughter, Betty VanNorstrand of Hyde Park; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Sweet’s Funeral Home Inc., Route 9, Hyde Park.
The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Leather officiating.
Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Hyde Park.
