Emily (Dissmore) Hickok, 88, of Eau Claire passed away Thursday, Sept. 20, 2007, at Dove Healthcare Nursing & Rehabilitation.
Emily was born Feb. 17, 1919, to Lester and Lillian (Woodford) Seeley in Eau Claire. She graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School in 1936. Emily was employed by the Wisconsin Department of Social Services in Eau Claire, retiring in 1981.
Emily married Lawrence Dissmore in 1951. He passed away in 1979. In 1982, Emily married Fred Hickok of Anchorage, Alaska, and lived there until his death in 2005.
Emily is survived by a brother, Everett (Doreen) Seeley of Eau Claire; and several nieces and nephews.
Emily was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; and brothers, Floris, Keith and Winton.
A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, at Smith Funeral Chapel. A luncheon will follow at Lake Hallie Village Hall.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and one hour before the service Wednesday at the funeral chapel. Interment will be in Glenwood Cemetery in Barron County.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Orchard Hills and Dove Healthcare for the fine care they provided Emily.
