CHAMPAIGN - Flossie Highland, 89, of Irvine, Calif., formerly of Champaign, passed away at 4:45 p.m. Sunday (May 27, 2007) at her home in Irvine.

Mrs. Highland was the beloved wife of the late Harold E. Highland, who preceded her in death in 2001.

Mrs. Highland was born in Lerna on May 5, 1918, a daughter of John Seeley and Udora Cather Seeley. She married Harold E. Highland on Dec. 25, 1936.

Mrs. Highland is survived by a daughter, Kay A. (James) Skelton of Schererville, Ind.; two sons, Steven D. Highland of Hacienda Heights, Calif., and Gary J. (Kayo) Highland of Newport Coast, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Highland was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.

Mrs. Highland worked with her husband, Harold, as a designer and decorator of custom-built homes in the Champaign-Urbana area. Together, they were among the first to develop the concept of luxury condominiums in the area.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Champaign and, before moving to California in 2002, was a charter member of Lincolnshire Fields Country Club.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. July 21, 2007, at Morgan Memorial Home, 1304 Regency Drive West, Savoy. The Rev. Donald Waldon will officiate.
