Ida Higley

Mrs. Frank Higley, longtime Correctionville resident, passed away at her home Wednesday, March 18, 1970, at the age of 91. Ida Seeley, daughter of Horace and Martha Seeley of Correctionville, was born December 28, 1878, at Olin, Iowa. She was the eldest of seven children and the last survivor. She was married to Frank Higley November 25, 1897, at Blencoe. Two daughters were born to this union: Mrs. Arthur (Lettie) Lathrop of Correctionville and Mrs. Landon (Myrtle) Hiatt. Mrs. Hiatt passed away in 1923 at the age of 21. Mr. and Mrs. Higley reared a son, Harold Higley, and two grandchildren, Mrs. James (Deloris) Admire of Sergeant Bluff and Royce Hiatt of Houston, Texas, children of their daughter, Myrtle. Mrs. Higley was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Correctionville. Mr. Higley passed away January 8, 1962. Survivors are her daughter, Mrs. Arthur Lathrop, a son Harold of Conway, Missouri, fourteen grandchildren, thirty-four great grandchildren, and seventeen great-great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday, March 21, at 2 p.m. at the Wilson-Hull Funeral Home with Rev. Elmer Yates, pastor of the Assembly of God church, officiating. Interment was in the Correctionville Cemetery.
