Lodica Seeley Hopkins

Mrs. Lodica Seeley Hopkins, 74, of 2529 Jefferson Ave., widow of W. Karl Hopkins, died this morning at her home after a short illness.

Mrs. Hopkins was a member of the LDS Fifth Ward and Daughters of Utah Pioneers, Camp Y.

She was born Feb. 6, 1883, in Indianola, Utah, a daughter of Hyrum and Mary Amelia Goldsbrough Seeley. On June 2, 1909, she was married to Mr. Hopkins in Salt Lake City. Mr. Hopkins, who was superintendent of Ogden City schools, died May 6, 1956.

She graduated from the Collegiate Institute of Salt Lake City and received her BA degree from Carlton College, Northfield, Minn., in 1907. She had taught school in Mount Pleasant and Lehi.

Surviving are three sons and three daughters, Karl S. Hopkins, Ogden; John W. Hopkins, El Paso, Tex.; Boyd R. Hopkins, Louisville, Ky.; Mrs. Bert (Georgia) Purdy, Las Vegas; Mrs. Glen (Betty) Lewis, Billings, Mont.; Mrs. Richard (Mary) Squires, Alexandria, Va.; 11 grandchildren, four brothers and one sister, Ernest H. Seeley, Vernal; Alvin W. Seeley, Ashton, Idaho; J. Ross Seeley, Hazelton, Idaho; Lyman O. Seeley, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Charles E. Scow, Rexburg, Idaho.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 3 p.m. in Lindquist and Sons Colonial Funeral Chapel by Bishop Ernest R. Ekins. Friends may call at the mortuary Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturday until services. Burial in Washington Heights Memorial Park.
