Joyce A. Howell

ROBBINSTON – Joyce A. Howell passed away July 6, 2011. She was born May 23, 1925, in Robbinston, daughter of Edith M. (Theriault) and John F. Seeley.

She graduated from Calais Academy high school, Class of 1942, and Colby College, Waterville, in 1946. Joyce married David B. Howell in September 1947 and raised two children, Janet and Franklin. The family moved to California in 1953. In 1978 she and David moved to Kerrville, Texas, and returned to Robbinston in 1982, where David retired and Joyce worked for the Department of Human Services. She belonged to the Congregational church, Schoodic Chapter of Maine Audubon and St. Croix Historical Society.

In addition to her parents, Joyce was predeceased by her husband, David; her brother, Robert O. Seeley of Calais; and her sister-in-law, Lois N. Seeley of Robbinston. She is survived by her two children, Janet Howell and daughter, Jennifer, of Cameron Park, Calif., and Franklin Howell and children, Benjamin and Tyler, of Chester, Calif. She is also survived by two brothers, Millard Seeley of Robbinston and Grant Seeley and wife, Anna, of Baring; one sister, Valerie Barnard and husband, Charles, of Perry and Sun City Center, Fla.; one great-granddaughter, several nieces and nephews.
