Lucile M. Hubbard

Lucile M. Hubbard, age 90, of Shorewood Drive North East, formerly of Ripley, went to be with the Lord on Saturday August 4, 2007 at the home of her daughter with her loving family at her side. She was born in Ripley on May 1, 1917, a daughter of the late Harley and Margaret Calkins Seeley. She was a 1934 graduate of Ripley Central School. She was also a 1937 graduate of Erie Business College and 1949 graduate of Life Bible College in Los Angeles, California. Lucile was a homemaker known throughout the area for her breads and rolls which she retailed from Westfield to Erie. In 1949, she had co-founded the First Street Mission in Richmond, Virginia, and was also an Associate Pastor and Sunday school teacher at the North East Church of God for 35 years, and a member of the Assembly of God Church in North East. She was a scrabble champion and enjoyed reading and attending church. Her greatest love was for her family and faith.

She is survived by her two sons James A. and Mary Jane Hubbard of Amherst, Virginia and Deryl Hubbard of North East, three daughters Shirley and Richard Nollinger, Cristle and Chuck Farrell, and Melanie and Howard Riefstahl all of North East, 25 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and a brother Fred Seeley of Ripley.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Vernon Robert Hubbard whom she married October 19, 1940 and had passed October 10, 1985, a brother Lloyd Seeley, and two sisters Laura Mae Seeley and Arlowene May Seeley. Friends may call at the North East Assembly of God Church 2025 Orchard Beach Road on Tuesday from 3-7 p.m. and are invited to attend the services there on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Troy Keith and Rev Gerald Olshevski officiating. Interment will be held privately in the Quincy Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the North East Assembly of God Church, Arrangements were handled Mathews Funeral Home 104 West Main Street Ripley, NY 14775.
