Age 70, of Elmira, whose proper name was Vieva Woodworth Seely Luce Austin Iszard, died at her home on Sunday, December 6, 2009. Friends are invited to a Requiem Mass, for Vieva, on Friday, December 11, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at Grace Episcopal Church, with Reverend Father Donald Matthews presiding. The family will provide flowers. Donations in Vieva's memory may be directed to either, Falck Cancer Center, 600 Roe Avenue, Elmira, NY 14905, Foundation for Prader-Willi Research, 104 Home Ave., Alexandria VA 22301, or Grace Episcopal Church, 375 W. Vieva Iszard

Age 70, of Elmira, whose proper name was Vieva Woodworth Seely Luce Austin Iszard, died at her home on Sunday, December 6, 2009. Vieva was born April 16, 1939, a daughter of the late John Madison Seely, Sr. and Julia Dow Seeley Luce. In addition to her parents she is predeceased by her brother Baird L. Seely, and Torry J. Luce, who adopted her. Vieva is survived by her dear husband Robert F. Iszard; daughters and sons-in-law, Cathryn and John Maczko of Vestal, NY, with children, Julia, Jack, and Thomas; Amy and Christopher Pietrofesa of Elizabeth, CO, with “special grandson” Bear; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Elizabeth and Patrick Kane of Horseheads; brothers and sister-in-law, John S. and Joanne Luce of Elmira, the “pillars of the family”, Dr. T. James Luce, with Marvin Mandlebaum, of Tinton Falls, NJ; step-children, Robert F. Iszard, with wife Martha, of Glenora, NY, Karen E. Brinton, with husband Buck, of Towson, MD, Barbara I. Hislop of Horseheads; several step grandchildren , step great-grandchildren; extra special niece Molly Bailey; along with other nieces and nephews. Also surviving are former husband, and good friend, Louis W. Austin, very special friends, Mary Booth Roberts, her life long friend, Pam and Fred Seither, Alberta Mase, and Susie Smith. Vieva was a life long member of Grace Episcopal Church, where she was active in the Altar Guild. She was also a long time volunteer at Arnot Ogden Medical Center, where Sue VanSickle gave her a place and an opportunity to serve, which enriched Vieva’s life.
