Olive J. Kahn

Olive “Ollie” Kahn of San Lorenzo, CA passed away on August 10, 2009 in Lodi, CA at the age of 90. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Burnell “Burny” Kahn in 2003 after 63 years of marriage. Ollie was born in Arcata, CA to Ed and Jane Seely and grew up the only girl among five brothers, Walter, Richard, Arthur, Elmo and Robert. All of whom preceded her in death.

She will be deeply missed by her children, Stephen Kahn, Pioneer, CA, Marty Crooke, Reno, NV and DeeDee Ohanesian, Lodi CA; her grandchildren, Pamela Armienti, Amy Furtado, Danny Kahn, Tim Kahn, Joe Kahn, Jenn Cordeiro and Sam Ohanesian and great grandchildren, Christopher, Brandon and Taylor Armienti, Alivia and Aly Kahn, Gabe and Holden Cordeiro, Shelby Furtado and Zachary Kahn. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Alvera Welsh of Walnut Creek and many extended family members and friends.

Ollie loved music, bingo and most of all friends stopping by to play cards or visit and share a cup of hot coffee. Christmas Eve at her home was a special event cherished by family and friends who gathered around the piano singing Christmas carols. She was a proud member of San Lorenzo Chapter No. 577, O.E.S., the San Lorenzo Mother Singers and was also Dir. Of Choir, Job’s Daughters, Bethel No. 207.

Her one true love was her family. She and Burny built a strong loving foundation that her children and grandchildren have learned from and modeled their lives after. Her love, wit and spirit will live on through all of us.

Services to celebrate Ollie’s life will be held at the home of her granddaughter, Pam and Mike Armienti, Livermore, CA Sat. August 29, 2009. All are welcome.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Lung Association, to bring awareness to Emphysema and COPD.
