KNIGHT, EDITH SELEY, September 7, 1908 - July 14, 2007
Edith Seley Knight passed away Saturday, July 14, 2007 after living a long and interesting life. Services will be at 1:30 pm Saturday, July 21 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel. Edith will be buried next to her husband in the Oakwood Cemetery in Waco, Texas. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, July 20 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. Edith was born on September 7, 1908 to Edith and Chapin Seley in Waco, Texas. She married Richard Knight on September 25, 1935. She was a member of the Church of Incarnation in Dallas for many years. In the 1980s, she was an early member of the Trinity Episcopal Church which is now on Hillcrest in Dallas. She enjoyed her friends in various clubs including the Marmion Chapter, Kiwanians, the Highland Park Garden Club, the Poe Study Club, and others where she enjoyed being the treasurer. She was able to travel to many countries and all over the United States where she took many pictures and remembered so many interesting places. One such trip was truly remarkable when she and her family drove to Yellowstone National Park from Waco, Texas in 1920. Edith moved to the Brighton Gardens Assisted Living Center in Bellaire, Texas. She made new friends there but she missed her friends in Dallas and the Dallas Symphony Orchestra that she loved so much. Edith is survived by her sons, Donald Richard Knight of Birmingham, Alabama and Edward Seley Knight of Houston, Texas; four grandsons, William L. Knight, Donald R. (Rick) Knight Jr., Thomas E. Knight, and Benjamin C. Knight. She is also survived by six great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her name to the charity of your choice.
