Pauline Victoria Legassick

LEGASSICK, PAULINE V. - Pauline Victoria Legassick, formerly of Saint John, wife of the late Rev. Kenneth Legassick, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at the Dr. V. A. Snow Centre, Hampton. Born in Hampton on October 29, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Addison and Rilla (Thorne) Seely. After raising her family, Pauline worked as a secretary, mostly for the School Board at Prince Charles School. She was a member of the Anglican Church Women and enjoyed knitting, and was very sociable, enjoying the company of other people. Pauline is survived by her children, David Legassick of Willow Grove, Stephen Legassick (Mary Jane) of Ottawa, Ontario, and Anne MacEacheron (Ian) of McLeod Hill, NB; grandchildren Matthew, Andrew, Julia, and Kathleen Legassick, and Allison and Carly MacEacheron; brothers Delbert Seely (Phyllis) of Saint John and Albert “Bert” Seely (Marjorie) of Rothesay; and several nieces and nephews. Pauline was predeceased by an infant daughter, Janet Lynn in 1957; and by brothers Jack and Charles Seely.

Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Sunday, January 13, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 14, 2013 at 10:00 AM from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place in St. Paul’s Anglican Cemetery, Hampton, at a later date. The funeral of Pauline Victoria Legassick, wife of the late Rev. Kenneth Legassick was held from Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB on Monday, January 14, 2013. The service was conducted by the Rev. Dr. Ranall Ingalls and assisted by the Rev. Canon Wally Corey. Remembrances were read by David Legassick and Stephen Legassick. The readers were Andrew Legassick and Allison MacEacheron. Congregational Hymns: "Abide With Me," "The Lord's My Shepherd," and "Praise My Soul the King of Heaven were accompanied by organist, Barry Snodgrass. Honourary Pallbearers were: Matthew Legassick, Kathleen Legassick, Andrew Legassick, Allison MacEacheron, Julia Legassick and Carly MacEacheron. The Saint John Y's Mens Club formed an Honour Guard. The Venerable Harold Hazen, Canon Leo Martin, Canon Stuart Allen, Canon Albert Snelgrove, Canon David Jackson, the Reverend Ken Brown and Senator Joseph Day were also present in the Congregation.Floral tributes were received from family and friends. Memorials were placed to Trinity Anglican Church, Renovation Fund; Trinity Anglican Church Outreach Fund; Prostate Cancer Canada; John T. McMillan Jr. Memorial Foundation; Canadian Bible Society (NB); MADD Canada, Saint John Chapter; Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick; Alzheimer Society of New Brunswick; Dr. V. A. Snow Foundation Inc.; Children's Wish Foundation of Canada (NB Chapter) and the Glenn Carpenter Center.Interment will take place in St. Paul's Anglican Cemetery at a later date.
