ELLA C. LINGLEY

DENNYSVILLE - Ella C. Lingley, 93, died Saturday, March 11, 2006, at the Atlantic Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Calais after a brief illness. She was born Aug. 18, 1912, in Edmunds, the daughter of the late Emery and Delia (Smith) Seeley. Mrs. Lingley was educated in Edmunds and Dennysville. She was employed by several area sardine factories for more than 40 years retiring in the mid 1970's. In the fall Ella made wreaths for many years. She was a member of the Dennys River Grange and the Pomona Grange of Dennysville. She was also a member of the Dennysville Extension Group. She shared 58 years of marriage with Ronald "Spud" Lingley who died in 1987. Family members include her children, Kenneth Seeley of Baileyville, Delia Carter and husband, Wilber, of Limington, Leah Lingley of Southwest Harbor, Lee Lingley and wife, Brenda, of Edmunds and Dwight Lingley and his wife, Valerie, of Dennysville; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; a sister, Eleta Duren of Lubec; a sister-in-law, Gladys Seeley of Edmunds; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased a son, Wendell "Buddy" Lingley; a daughter-in-law, Jane Seeley; and by six brothers and two sisters. The family requests that there are no visiting hours. Graveside services will be held at the Dennysville Cemetery, Cemetery Road, Dennysville in the spring. Arrangements are by the Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, 6 Cooper St., Machias.
