Hazel Seely Lockhart

Hazel Seely Lockhart, 85, died July 11, 2010, in Frisco, Texas. She was born on Nov. 23, 1924, in Monroe County, the oldest of seven children.

She married Willis Delford Lockhart on Jan. 26, 1947. They lived in Monroe County, where their two children were born. In 1963, they moved to Simpson County, then moved back to Monroe County in 1996 and lived there until 2001 when they moved to Texas to live with their daughter. Hazel was a devoted wife and loving mother.

Daughter Angie Beth Deets, Frisco, Texas; son, Greg Lockhart, and wife Becky, McMinville, Tenn.; and grandson, Josh Lockhart and wife, Tana, Pinson, Ala., survive her. She is also survived by five sisters, Mavis Stanley, Judy Guess, Martha Ott, Jo Brown and Reba Conn and their husbands; sisters-in-law Bea Lockhart and Mary Lockhart, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

In addition to her parents, Curtis and Irene Seely, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willis Delford Lockhart; brother, Sidney Seely; son-in-law, Lewis Deets, and brother-in-law, Robert Stanley.

Visitation was held Thursday, July 15, and her funeral service was held on July 16 at Tisdale Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Aberdeen. Burial followed at Center Hill Baptist Church cemetery in Hamilton beside her beloved husband.
