Elizabeth H. "Liz" (Gleason) Lucier DIED - Nov. 17, 2014 NORWICH - Elizabeth H. "Liz" (Gleason) Lucier, 71, of Old Canterbury Tpke, died peacefully on Monday, November 17, 2014. Liz was born in New York City and grew up in New Milford, the daughter of the late George and Margaret (Harriman) Seely. She eventually settled in Preston and worked for many years as a nursing assistant at the William W. Backus Hospital. For twenty five years she was the loving wife of Ronald Lucier. She was a kind hearted person with a great sense of humor who was a loving mother and grandmother. As a mother of seven children she was always involved in her children's activities and was there whenever someone needed motherly advice. She was a proud and dedicated member of the Poquetancuk Fire Department earning the distinction of life member. In addition to her husband Ronald, she is survived by her children; Kelly Hulse, Karen Szarzynski, Kimberley Matsen, Kathryn Fairgrieve, Karol Gleason, Kristen Gleason, and Edward Gleason; twelve grandchildren; one great grandson; a brother Henry "Ron" Seely; and two nieces, Pamela and Debbie Seely. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, Nov. 22, from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. at the Woyasz & Son Funeral Home, 141 Central Ave, Norwich, with a service to be held at 2:30 P.M. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Donations in her memory may be made to Hospice of S.E. CT, 179 Gallivan Ln, Uncasville, CT 06382.
