Jennie Marten, 74, of State Center, died early Monday morning at her home.
Born Jennie Seeley, October 20, 1910 in Adair county, she was the daughter of Gifford and Grace Hyda Seeley. She received her education in Adair county moving to State Center about 1945. On January 13, 1947 at Leavenworth, Kansas she was married to C V (Izzie) Marten and they had always made their home in State Center. Mr Marten died in September 1978.
Also preceding her in death were her parents, a step-son Bill, and two brothers, Darold and Elvin Seeley.
Surviving are a step-grandson, Doug Honeck of State Center; two sisters, Alta Kordick of Des Moines and Treva Taylor of Fontanelle, Iowa; a brother, Wilbur Seeley of Greenfield, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held at Wensel-Perrin Funeral Home Wednesday with Father Claude Norton officiating. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Don Trimble, Harlan Kloppenborg, Marvin Harp, Jerry Poling, Ralph Moody and Don Preston.
