Marjorie Seeley Moffat

Marjorie Seeley Moffat, formerly of Gulliver, Mich., died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at the age of 86.

She was born in Pontiac, Mich., in 1926 to Glenn and Georgina Seeley and attended Pontiac schools and Hillsdale College, where she was a member of Kappa, Kappa Gamma sorority. She taught school in Waterford, Mich. After retirement they lived in Holly, Mich., where she was active in Mt. Bethel Methodist Church.

She and her husband were former officers in the Irish Setter Club of Michigan and the National Red Setter Club. They bought their Gulliver Lake cabin in 1985 and built a winter home across the road in 1994. She moved to Covenant Village of the Great Lakes in January 2011.

She is survived by her sons, Glenn (Ruth) of Belmont, Mich., Steven (Cathi) of Elizabethtown, N.C.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; sister, Jean Ketchum of Chelsea, Mich.; one niece and four nephews; brother-in-law, John (Nancy) Moffat of Waterford.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas S. Moffat; and sister, Evelyn Taylor.

Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place, and there will be no services.
