In Hartford Hospital, March 13, 2009, Joan Seeley Moynihan, beloved wife of Finbarr Moynihan of 157 Harrison Rd., Cheshire, loving mother of Patrick W. Moynihan of Cheshire, Kelly Scirocco of Hamden, and Maureen Fortier of Mass, cherished grandmother of Michael Moynihan, Mallory and Kerryann Scirocco, Kara and Alex Fortier, sister of Thomas W. Moynihan of Florida and niece of the late Doris Gavigan. Mrs. Moynihan was born in New Haven, January 7, 1942, daughter of the late Warren and Bernice Gavigan Seeley. She was the managing editor of the International Trade Show Magazine of the America Chemical Society. She was a writer of several publications, including The History of the St. Patrick's Day Parade of New Haven. She was a past president of the Irish American Community Center, a parishioner of St. Rita Church and a long time resident of Cheshire.
Funeral from Sisk Brothers Funeral Home, 3105 Whitney Ave., Hamden, Tuesday morning at 9:30. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Rita Church at 10 o'clock. Friends may call Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. Burial in St. Lawrence Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hartford Hospital, 80 Seymour St., Hartford, 06102.
