Arrangements for memorial services are pending at Newcomer Family Funeral Home for Janet Lillian Nigus, 65, Topeka, who died Wednesday Dec. 11, 2002, at her home. She was cremated.
She was born Nov. 21, 1937, in Horton, to James C. and Caroline House Seeley.
She spent her early life in Hiawatha and graduated from Hiawatha High School in 1955.
She was a dental hygienist, having graduated from the School of Dentistry at the University of Missouri in Kansas City.
She married Duane A. Nigus on Feb. 20, 1963, in Miami, Okla. He survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Durwin D. Nigus, Chillicothe, Ill., and Philip D. Nigus, Wamego; her mother, Caroline Willis, Joplin, Mo.; a sister, Judy Hileman, DeSoto; a stepsister, Sue Luken, Kimberling City, Mo.; and five grandchildren.
