WAMEGO--Diann L. Northup, 68, passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at the Midland Hospice House in Topeka. She was born September 21, 1945 at Wamego, the daughter of George J. and Leona L. Hafenstein Seele. Diann grew up in the Kaw Township and graduated from St. Marys High School in 1963. Diann worked many years at Jim's Pharmacy in St. Marys. She had also worked many years for National Farmers Union Insurance Co. in Wamego. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys. On May 19, 1967 she was united in marriage to Harold Gene Wells. He preceded her in death on November 10, 1986. She was also preceded in death by a son Kevin J. Wells on April 23, 1989, her parents and two brothers, Lloyd and Larry Seele. She was united in marriage to Dale Northup on January 4, 1993 at Las Vegas. He survives of the home. Other survivors include two sons, Lloyd (Jennifer) Wells, Mayetta, and Jeff (Marcia) Wells, Salina; a stepson, Jeremy Northup, Wamego; four brothers, Melvin Seele, Rossville, Ivan Seele, Paxico, Leroy Seele, in Texas, and Tom Seele, in Florida; two sisters, Marcella Lundin, Delia, and Karen Olson, Sterling; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys. Diann will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:00 P.M. Friday, June 27, 2014 at Piper Funeral Home in St. Marys. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery St. Marys. Memorial contributions may be made to the Diann L. Northup Memorial Fund and sent in care of Piper Funeral Home, 714 Maple, St. Marys, Kansas 66536.
