Friendly Helen Gertrude Seeley Downey Pavlovich, age 90 of Catskill died peacefully at her home on Sunday, December 12, 2010. She was born in Catskill on February 15, 1920 to the late Irving and Alice Gavigan Seeley.
She attended St. Patrick's Academy and during the 40's and 50's she waitressed at the New York Restaurant and The Mayflower on Main St. She was a member of the Lady Elks, On-Ti-Ora Chapter NSDAR and a parishioner of St. Patrick's R.C. Church. She was blessed with a long, happy, and healthy life.
She is survived by her two sons: Michael and Danny Downey; eight grandchildren: Colleen, Michael, and Jennifer Downey, Nirell and Neal Law, Justin, Marissa, and Hanna Downey; six great-grandchildren; two brothers: Mike (Kenneth) and Art Seeley; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Michelle Downey and ten siblings: Irving, William, Edgar, Lyle, Dorothy "Dot", Ruthie, Ora, Mae, Alice and Helen.
A Prayer Service will be held on Friday, December 17 at 1 p.m. in the Millspaugh Camerato Funeral Home at 139 Jefferson Heights with, Sr. Mary L. Mazza, Parish Life Director of the Churches of St. Patrick officiating. Interment will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to call at the funeral home from 11 to 1 p.m. prior to the funeral.
