Dorothy Seeley Pearson, 80, died during her sleep Tuesday, Sept. 18, 1984, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Robert Lugg, 207 North First Street, Knoxville, Pa.

She was born Dec. 15, 1903 in Knoxville, the daughter of Herbert and Anna Belle Wright Seeley.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William S. Pearson, who died in 1929.

She was a graduate of Mansfield Normal School where she earned a B.S. degree and received a Master of Science degree at Columbia University, N.Y. She taught in Pennsylvania and New York schools for 45 ½ years and retired after teaching 27 years in the Elmira Heights, N.Y. School District.

She was a member of the Elmira Heights Retired Teachers’ Association, the New York State Retired Teachers’ Association, Delta Kappa Gamma Alpha Rho, the Wellsboro Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Elmira Heights Business and professional Womens’ Association, and the First Baptist Church of Knoxville.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Anna) Lugg of Knoxville; four grandchildren, A. William Lugg, David K. Lugg, Catherine A. Lugg and R. Andrew Lugg; one aunt, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial Services will be held in the First Baptist Church of Knoxville at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Nathan Cohen Fund or the Children’s room of the Knoxville Public Library.
