Dorothy M. Perrone

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, you may be also.? (John 14:2-3).

He has kept His promise. Dorothy M. Perrone passed into eternal rest on June 21, 2007, at Wilkinson Health Care Facility, where she was a patient for five years.

She was born October 28, 1920, to William and Maude Seeley in Kansas City, Missouri. The family moved to Gloversville, NY, when she was thirteen years old.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, Edward P. Perrone, whom she married November 25, 1937; sons, Edward A. and William P. and daughter Charlotte, all of Gloversville; grandchildren, Noelle M. Sheber and William M. Perrone; and four great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Julia Sheber, as well as Haley and Will Perrone; two nieces and two nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Frank Seeley, Raymond Swartz and Orville Seeley; and a sister, Elisa Diefendorf.

Dorothy was a homemaker and had worked as a glove maker, secretary and bookkeeper, retiring in 1981 due to health problems. She was a devoted wife and mother who took great pleasure in sewing, growing flowers, serving her church and cooking for her family and many friends.

The family would like to thank the second-floor staff of Wilkinson Health Care Facility and Hospice of Amsterdam, NY, for their loving care and support.

Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at Amico Funeral Home, 150 S. Main St., Gloversville, on Saturday, June 23, 2007, and on Sunday, June 24, from 1 to 2 p.m., followed by a 2 p.m. funeral service at Emanuel Baptist Church, 12 James St., Gloversville, with the Rev. Peter Ellis. There will be a private interment ceremony at Ferndale Cemetery. Cremation will take place at the Leatherstocking Crematory, Cherry Valley, N.Y.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Emanuel Baptist Church, Gloversville.
