Mrs. Margaret Petty, 48, of Gatesville, passed away Monday, Oct. 13, 2008, at home surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, at the Gatesville Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary Robinson officiating. The family will receive visitors 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, at the funeral home.
Margaret was born in Houston, Texas, to the late Carl and Bertha Thompson Seelye. She attended schools in Houston. Margaret married Tommy Lee Petty on October 3, 1980 in Gatesville and has lived there since 1980.
She was preceded in death by a brother; and two sisters.
Margaret is survived by her husband of 28 years, Tommy L. Petty, Sr.; son, Tommy Lee Petty, Jr. and wife, Rachel, of Fairfield; daughter, Becky Sue Rushton and husband, Chad, of Turnersville; grandchildren, Connor Jackson Petty and James Robert Rushton; brothers, Robert Seelye and wife, Ruth, of Spring, TX, Carl Seelye and wife, Mary, of Starks, LA and Ronald Seelye and wife, Cindy, of Crosby, TX; and sisters, Norma Malone, of Houston, Mary Posinski, of Starks, LA, Carolyn Follett and husband, Bear, of Butler, TX, Millie Jones, of Houston, TX, Betty Kelly and husband, Roger, of Burns Flat, OK and Helen Seelye, of Starks, LA.; and many other family members and friends.
