Mrs. Kate Phillips
Platteville – Mrs. Kate Phillips, 78, a former Platteville resident who recently has been living with her daughter, Mrs. Genevieve Mau, West Salem, died Friday in a La Crosse hospital after a brief illness.
The former Kate Seeley, Mrs. Phillips was born May 29, 1862, near Elk Grove. She is survived by her daughter; two sons, Ellis, Bradford, Penn., and Rufus, Chicago; a sister, Mrs. Mae Gould, Paradise, Calif., and two brothers, Lewis, Darlington, and Charles, Elk Grove.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Thomas funeral home here. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery.
