Norma B. (Seeley) Proud

Norma B. (Seeley) Proud, 83, of Moncton, passed away peacefully with her loving family at her side, at the Moncton Hospital on Thursday April 14, 2011. Born in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late E. Claude and Josephine (Foster) Seeley. Norma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a former Home Economics teacher at Saint John Vocational School. She was a member of First Baptist Church, the Evelyn Eaton Missionary Group and served the church in various other capacities in past years. Norma was a former volunteer at Spencer Memorial Home and was involved, with her husband Jack (Jumpin’ Jack), in their family businesses. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, traveling, working on the computer and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and her great grandson, Landon. Norma will be sadly missed by her husband of over 57 years, Jack (Jumpin’ Jack) Proud; her children, Patti Proud (Mike Shannon) of Calgary, AB and Robert “Bob” (Patti) of Riverview; precious grandchildren, Julia, Rebecca, Cynthia and Amanda Carter; Katie and Jillian Proud; step-grandchildren, Hillary and Olivia Campbell; her precious great grandson, Landon; son-in-law, Floyd Carter of Kouchibouguac, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Janice Carter (2008); sister, Pauline; brothers, George and Lorne.

Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road , Moncton (858-1995) on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Service at First Baptist Church, Queen St. on Tuesday April 19, 2011, 2:00 pm, Rev. Delbert Bannister officiating. Reception following the service.
