Mary Louise Raetz

Mary Louise Raetz, 86, of Shelbyville, IL., passed away at 8:45 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011, in the Shelbyville Manor in Shelbyville.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, Sept. 12, 2011, in Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville. Memorials can be made to the Saving Orphaned Animals Fund or the Shelby Humane Society.

Mary was born Aug. 2, 1925, in Tower Hill, IL., the daughter of William Roscoe and Cora Mae Brownlee Seely.

She married Vincent Raetz on Aug. 27, 1943, in Shelbyville, and he passed away Oct. 19, 1991.

Mary was a graduate of Pana, IL., High School. She, formerly, worked at the Shelby County Health Department and retired from the Shelby County Clerk's Office.

She was a member of the Moose Lodge of Shelbyville, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #81 Women's Auxiliary and American Legion Post #4829 Women's Auxiliary, both of Shelbyville.

Mary is survived by her son, David Raetz of Shelbyville; grandchildren: Rick (Cinda) Johnson; Lora (Tonya) Johnson; and Aaron (Kelley) Gaddis; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent; her parents; sister, Leona Puckett; and brother, Wilson Seely.
